John Denver sang about it.  Almost Heaven.  Almost West Virginia, Clarke County is a small county located at the northern border of Virginia.  Our location provides wonderful scenery and recreation throughout the year.

We experience four distinct seasons and enjoy amazing fruits of our local farmers and artisans-- fruits, vegetables, local pork and beef, wine, and craft beers.  Artists abound in this small community-- painters, photographers, sculptors, and musicians!

Berryville has several local restaurants and shops along its charming downtown streets.  We have a grocery store and a few convenience stores, a dry cleaner, eclectic shops, pharmacies and other small town necessities.   A short trip to Winchester provides solutions to larger needs-- mall, movie theaters, and all chain retailers and restaurants.

Within an hour of Berryville's small town charm lies Washington, DC and all that it offers, as well as ski slopes, plentiful hiking and biking trails, rafting opportunities, and loads of historical sites including battlegrounds and museums.
